Full-Time SUMMARY Assures consistent quality of production by enforcing good manufacturing practices (GMPs); validating processes; providing documentation; and reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager.
QA Technician reports to Quality Supervisor who is responsible to cover all his/her duties in his/her absence.
The QA Technician will report any Food Safety and Quality problems to QA Supervisor to initiate immediate action.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform routine checks and provide support to production during verification checks.
Assist production by monitoring cookie standards and consistency, taking corrective measures when necessary.
Monitor compliance with all SOPs (standard operational procedures).
Comply with the receiving and releasing of raw ingredients and packaging materials.
Ensure the adequate supply of laboratory tools and other necessary supplies.
Ensure the hold and release program is followed.
Assist in food safety and quality audits throughout the year.
Assist in overseeing the cleaning of the production area before facility shut down.
Performs assigned, routine visual inspections and other specified tests on raw materials, goods in process, and finished products.
Tests, inspects, and approves raw materials based on established quality specifications.
Uses observation and testing to identify faults in materials and manufacturing process.
Uses statistical methods to test product samples to evaluate quality of full product batch prior to delivery to clients or customers.
Compares results of inspections and tests to company's quality/standards, reports results to supervisor for final analysis and action steps.
Develops, maintains, and posts logs, charts, and forms detailing quality levels, inspection data, and results of special quality studies for review by line mechanics, supervisors, and other production staff.
Consults with supervisor to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questionable products.
Maintains quality records as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QA Technician is responsible for any additional duties, or responsibilities, that may be designated by his/her supervisor.
TRAINING QA Technician will receive the necessary job-related training with in the first month of employment by QA Supervisor; if the QA Supervisor is unavailable QA Manager must complete the training.
The QA Supervisor and Compliance Manager will be responsible for making sure that QA Technician receives SQF, GMP, Food Defense, and Safety training.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma and a minimum of 2 years' quality control/assurance preferably in the manufacturing industry, in a laboratory, a college degree or equivalent experience.
No felony convictions on record.
Must pass initial background checks.
Computer skills:
Microsoft Office programs, type at least 30 wpm.
Able to work a flexible schedule.
