Position Description The Civil Construction Estimator / Project Manager is responsible for estimating temporary access and heavy civil construction projects in the powerline, solar, wind, pipeline, and general construction industries as well as performing project management activities to include scheduling, cost analysis, material, and vendor sourcing, etc.
The ideal candidate in this position possesses a detailed understanding of heavy sitework to include grading, cut & amp, fill, aggregate installation, underground piping, and erosion control measures.
Quality, safety, and efficiency of work performed along with superior customer contact and satisfaction are paramount.
This position is predominately office work but will require outdoor project exposure & travel.
This position requires leadership andattention to detail, combined with a proven track record.
Responsibilities In addition to working closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Field Personnel, the Civil Construction Estimator / Project Managers responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Working closely with sales team to design and estimate solutions for projectsDesign, map, and bid substation projects, solar and wind projects, as well as temporary right-of-way access projectsAttend pre-bid, pre-construction, and site visits for potential and upcoming projectsPerform take-offs from construction plans and estimate labor, equipment, and materials needed to execute plansDevelop execution plans, schedules, project narratives, and other written communication as part of proposalsPerform cost analysis, project scheduling and project management activitiesEnsure projects are properly executed, as budgeted, and billed in a timely manner within scope of the contractManage the selection, cost comparison, and schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assignedProactively work to establish advantageous long-term customer relationshipsInterface with customer throughout the project life cycle to gain feedback and provide information for customer satisfactionCommunicate bid and project status to management, providing forecasts of revenue, costs, schedule, billing, and other metric / dashboard itemsActively pursue additional business through change orders; perform associated cost estimates / comparisons, prepare proposals and negotiate final settlement price and customer acceptanceNegotiate, prepare and issue subcontracts; foster and maintain good working relationships with subcontractorsEnsure Purchase Orders are assigned in an effort to control the costs of the job and maintain profitabilityIdentify and communicate alternative solutions that could make a project safer, more efficient and more cost-effectiveQualificationsPosition Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is desirable with Five (5) years' experience in Heavy Civil Estimating / Project Management.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, to prioritize and work in a multi-tasked environmentKnowledge and understanding of all Project Management PrinciplesFamiliarity with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Project is requiredFamiliarity with B2W software is a plusKnowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and safety hazards of construction projectsSkill in organizing and coordinating large construction projectsSkill in monitoring the work of contractorsMust be very well organized and methodicalMust have excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills Personal Attributes Interpersonal Communication-- Navigate and relate with all levels of the organization; builds appropriate rapport; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact; can diffuse even high-tension situations comfortably.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
