This is a full-time salaried position reporting directly to the Director of People and Development.
Responsibilities:
Uphold and instill company culture, values, and policies.
Stay abreast of legal requirements and government regulations affecting HR functions, ensuring compliance in policies, procedures, and reporting.
Provide HR policy and program training to management.
Manage all aspects of team member benefit programs, including 401k, medical, supplemental, and PTO.
Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, including E-Verify and I-9.
Handle payroll processing on a semi-monthly basis.
Conduct investigations into accidents for liability and workers' compensation, actively managing insurance claims.
Maintain team member employment files and records securely and in compliance.
Address inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and benefit programs.
Foster relationships with HR-related vendors and brokers.
Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of People and Development or company owners.
Provide counseling to team members and analyze grievances or dissatisfaction to promote positive relationships and retention.
Offer HR recommendations on staffing, training, and team member relationship matters.
Reconcile team member benefits and oversee unemployment, garnishments, and similar claims and reporting.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years' experience in human resources, payroll, and benefits.
Thorough understanding of HR with knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Strong reasoning, analytical, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in a multi-unit environment with a diverse workforce is advantageous.
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Proficiency in technology, including HR systems, file sharing/storage, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Self-motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Excellent project management and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Positive attitude and team-oriented approach.
Occasional travel within Mississippi and Louisiana required.
